New to the site, 82 Z28 question
My uncle has an 82 z28 for parts. He bought it in 82 with 9k miles totaled. It took a tree in the passengers door. Anyway 9330 miles. He still has most of it, body and running gear. All that is left is the full nose, full brakes and suspension (alum rear drums), hood, complete dual tbi motor, tranny (I think), rear end and dash and cluster and the body shell. Its been sitting out uncovered for 25 years now in new england. I was surprised to see the dash pad was perfect too. Brakes look quite rusted. A nice mouse nest on top of the air cleaner.
I can probably have it for nothing. Is there any value left in these parts? Should I strip it of everything? I could use the rear gears in my cutlass I guess.
He also has an 86 firebird with a 2.8 v6 still in it, 1100 miles. Hit in the firewall hard enough to break the bell housing.
Too bad the z28 was not kept inside, it would have been easily repairable.
