Hello everyone, I recently bought a 1971 RS?? The bumper and lights are correct, along with the grill but the body tag has so much paint on it that I can't read it all. When I try to clean or scrape it off the tag appears to be "flaking" away, so I stopped. Is there a coating over these tags or maybe I was too fast to buy it and got ***. I will post a pic as soon as I hit my 3 post limit. Regardless its my new baby and I feel like a kid again. FYI I live in the NW.

 

Welcome to CF, and congrats on your new car. Hopefully it will pan out to be a real RS. The trim tag came bare aluminum (unpainted), and I don't believe they put a coating on it.
