Default New Member but veteran Camaro owner

Hello all! Just wanted to say hi and let myself be known as I will amost certainly pop up again when I have a question or issue with my ride. Speaking of which, it is an 86 Z28 with a 305 and carb. 192,000 miles and running like she could take on any Mustang and tear it up (and has on a couple of occasions) ; ). I even had to leave her parked for two years when I moved to Arizona, but when I moved home again she fired right up again and has been running like I never left her since! I am just about to start a full restoration to bring her back to new, Including a planned 350 swap and a fresh coat of paint. Pretty cool to note that she has been in my family from day one, as she was purchaced off the lot brand new and driven by my mother until she opted to go for a larger 2000 Monte Carlo. That means that I grew up around this car and know exactly what it has gone through and had fixed since it was new. I have grown to love it for what it is and hope to keep it around for at least another 20 years!

Welcome to the forums!

Post some pics! We all love pics....anyways nice to hear that you know where it came from, my camaro, we're still finding **** that is unbelievable on it...like a Deck Screw or two that was holding up the gfx...so now we have to replace those bolts, but it sounds like you got a good running car

Nice, like the color. Is it me, or does the front end and the rear bumper under the tailights, look like a slightly different color? Still very nice looking for being 20+ years

Hi and Welcome, That's a nice car you've got there. What's really great about your car is that you know where it's been for the last 20 years. Good luck with the restoration.

Thanks everyone! The color is original gunmetal grey, But the bumpers are lighter because of sun fading on the plastic panels and the clear coat rubbing off. Time for a new coat I guess!
