Well I'm Glenn and I'm 20 and in college. I usually stick with Jeeps to work on and lift and stuff, but I've been wanting a motorcycle lately and now I'm wanting a 1967-69 Camaro. My plan is to find a project car and build it up and do as much of the work I can myself. I don't know much about building a Camaro, but I am wanting to learn. My brother suggested that I find a forum and get some ideas and help. So hopefully this will help out. Thanks ahead of time for the help and pictures on this site.

Welcome to the site. If you have your heart set on a 1st Generation Camaro, be prepared to spend some $, because no matter the condition, they can go for a chunk.

If you're not set on a 1st Generation Camaro, look into one of the later 2nd Generations (maybe 1977+), because they go for dirt cheap. Nobody really wants them because they were pretty slow. They're a good baseline to start with.

If you're looking for some really decent handling, go for a 1985-1987 IROC. They can be had for very reasonable prices, and they handle at 0.92g straight out of the factory. They're not that fast, but man, they handle. Another good baseline to start with.

And then of course, there are the 4th Generation LT1 and LS1 models. LT1 models can be had for about $5,000, and those are the ones in good shape. Decent performance right out of the box.
