Default New Here from RIDETECH

Hello everyone. My name is Jeremy and I work in the sales and tech department here at Ridetech. I own a 1967 Camaro that like most of you I am still working on it. If there is anything I can help with please let me know. I know I will be asking many questions and hope to learn as much as I can from you guys!

Hi Jeremy, I have a question....I just bought a '68 with strong arm upper and lower control arms, HQ series coil overs, and drop spindles all from Ridetech, the builder of the car didn't know what he was doing so I took it all apart and had to redo several things. When I took the front shocks off, I noticed he had put a 3/4" metal bushing over the piston and under the front shock tower at the top. The spring was adjusted all the way up. I think he had a rubbing issue and was attempting to raise the car. When I put it back together, I now have them adjusted 2" from the bottom thread which is up there, but not all the way. I did not put on the metal bushing he had put on there. I need to do some more measuring and figure out how much travel the car has now.

I'm running 18x8" wheels up front, 235/45/18 tires and the car is only 3" off the ground (subframe to the ground). The right front tire is rubbing the inner fender well with 2 people in the car on left turns. I don't know if I got too much wheel and tire, or if I need to "shim" the top of the shock to get some more clearance, or even tighten the springs up a little more. On top of all this, I have not had the front end aligned yet. I understand a camber adjustment may help.

Long explanation I know, but I was hoping these front end components would handle that size wheel and tire. Ultimately I'd also like at least 4" clearance to keep from dragging the underneath of the car.

Any suggestions would be awesome !!!!
James
