Talking The new guy.

Hey everybody, new guy here.
I'm sixteen and live in North Jersey, looking for my first car and that being said 'id like to introduce myself by asking some questions! What's your opinion between the trade offs of third and forth gens. I like the third gen body style more, but appreciate the fourth gen enough to consider it for its abs, traction control..etc. Any thoughts? Also, I was wondering how many miles is too many? I have absolutely no idea how long camaros tend to run for, and have heard some down right outrageous stories that i'm sure I shouldn't believe.
Thanks in advance,
PJ

Hello and welcome. You might want to ask your question in the gen tech section. you will prob get a much bigger response. Goodluck!

welcome to the forum. not real sure on the 3rd gens but a 4th gen thats well cared for will go 200k+ miles. had almost 200k on my first 93 when i sold it. this one has 112k now, 3k on motor and trans but i still have the old ones for backup.

Where in North Jersey are you? I just moved there. But to answer your question, i'd go with a 4th gen.

4th gen for the daily driver and as a good first car. Last thing you want to do is buy a money pit for your first car

Thanks everyone, and yeah I was leaning towards the 4th gen. The more I look at them the more I seem to appreciate the body style. I live in lake Hopatcong, near Rockaway or Dover, and was looking at this car, but am not sure if the extras are worth the more miles. Any thoughts are appreciated. 95 camaro with 160k

That's actually a really good deal. 160xxx isn't bad for a 3.4. They can last up to 300xxx if properly maintained.

I like the idea of searching completed listings on Ebay that didnt sell because i'd much rather go see and pay for the car in person than commit online. And i had no idea that camaros could run that long, suddenly I'm really liking this one.
