Welcome to C.F. Nice looking car, I like the blue color.
Sorry I went on and on about a glorified J body Cavalier!!!. But the point was that is what got me into Chevrolet style sinister looks and a black interior with red and orange stripes and candy apple red paint....made me want a Camaro or a vette even more. ❤ Chevy! One last thing. The quality is far better than ever, but I can tell they spent $$$$ on the motor. Its sounds so good and soothing with satisfying 2nd to 3rd to 4th shifts. It could use a better shifter. Its notchy and vauge. I have stalled it at least 20 times. Thank you moderator Picture was taken 2 hours ago.
Group- First i would like to say hello but i am in need of a good restoration / body person for my 67 Camaro. It is a true 1967 RS/SS 396 car that i have had since high school i received from original owner ( DAD ). I recently took it to a guy for work and the back half looks like it went to chop shop. He had a younger guy working on it and was not supervising from what i can tell. I brought my car home and now looking for help. I am in the Ashland Ky area. PLEASE HELP
Well don't feel too bad, some idiot backed into my new Harley back in May and I finally got the money out of his insurance in August after getting surveillance video from a store camera to prove it was his fault. Then I got the Harley dealer to finally order the parts and as of today still waiting on one piece that's on backorder. Gahh!
Wish I was only 50 again,tomorrow 10/01/2021 is my 65th b-day.
I hope she is rideable and the part on backorder has shown up or you have received a VALID time-line. Nice bike. I rode dirt bikes forever. And I rode my uncles Superbike Yamaha FJ 1100? (sorry I forgot but it was the fastest bike on the world).
So I did have a class C license and I took her out. The acceleration AND the RPM'S were SAVAGE. His helmet was a little big for me and it felt like it was being sucked off my head. I was scared to ride it in traffic. I think it was an FJ-1100. I like getting out in the wind, but in DC area traffic I felt WAYYYY too exposed. Thar and my lead foot would certainly make me what Nurses call Superbike riders
...... organ donors.
If I could have an option on my car, it would be T-Tops!!! Why doesn't anyone sell cars with T-tops?
-Chris
Beautiful ride CamaroChris!! The color combo with the blue and the black wheels looks sinister..
I’ve also been waiting on parts, either it’s covid or shortage of drivers. My favorite is the gal who I ordered fenders for my Chevelle from, who then quit that afternoon and never placed my order…then they went on back order. 3 months later I got my fenders. Could always be worse 😊
Shipped October 4th from Edelbrock, but no idea on arrival. Truck driver shortage was a problem, and so was Covid and Edelbrock's move across the country. Anyway. I hope you get your Harley part. Maybe so polite pressure would get it done???
Nice talking with you. That Chevelle lack of order is total BS. Glad you got them. My next Favorite Chevy is the Chevelle SS 396 BB
Hello!!! I have made it my business to find honest guys

In Ashland KY, I would think that there would be "word around town is Dave and Bob's shop is real reasonable, and they know everything about Chevrolet motors, engines, esuspension....everything." But nothing like that? Most smaller towns will have a good shop, but ypu need a GREAT SHOP!!
That car is very valuable. It's liable to cost $50,000 to rebuild it, and $60,000 for a really primo job, including custom paint and everything you need to give it MODERN SAFETY SYSTEMS, like power brakes and I recommend steering, a stock looking AM/FM radio that secretly has Bluetooth. Even things like the glass. All automotive Glass in the US, tinted or not....is UV protected. I remember my dad's 1971family Truckster wagon giving me a massive sunburn on just a 4 hr sunny ride.....In November. (It had the green interior with rear facing back seats).
So, plan on it taking a year, and I would use the Martin Bros in Austin Texas. It will be worth every penny. At the end you will have a $100,000+++ car because it was done by Martin Bros. So using a recognized shop of excellence like Kindig, Foose, Counts Customs. or the Martin Bros ADDS value to your car.
So get that HELOC ready and go for it. We only get one chance in life where the money is there and the kids are grown. Where the stars align and you can swing it. But you must trust the shop. If the shop is well known you can relax knowing your instructions will be carried out and the finished product surpasses ypur expectations.
I took my one chance. It started life as a bone stock 1LT 3.6L manual with 3.6k (just broken in). and all it had was the color I loved.
Now the Supercharger goes in on 10/29. 379 RWHP. So SAE NET HP would be 450hp. And I still have cylinder deactivation in overdrive (6th) and a bypass valve on the 'charger that will give me 32mpg hwy. She looks so beautiful. You should see it after I wash and buff it. It is exactly how I wanted it. I love it. 👍. It has taken me months to convert everything. This is the 19950 Supercharger. It runs off the crank just like mad max. Everything you need comes with it. This is a level one kit. Once this is installed it is tuned for Premium fuel and you can get 379 RWHP and NO MORE unless you add bigger injectors and a larger fuel pump. I also get 325 RW Torque.. So, we want the stage one horsepower so it doesnt destroy the car. These figures are at the rear wheels. My car is rated at 335HP SAE NET. That gives me 276 RWHP
So the supercharger gives me 379 RWHP. Over 100 Rear Wheel Horsepower. So...
About 440 to 450hp SAE NET
I get all this for $10k including all the suspension and window tint and subwoofer and black rims, caliper covers, front splitter, rear diffuser, Bilstein German made B-14 4 wheel adjustable coilovers with lowering springs.
Just a pretty picture to show the dual mode exhaust, black LED RS/SS tailights, and I love the color. I added the SS wing, the diffuser at the bottom, and everything in between. Note the tinted glass. Called 30%. I assume it blocks 30% of the sun, OR 70% tinted from the outside 🤔

Welcome to the club! Thanks for joining us. Tons of great info here and full of good people that are more than happy to share their knowledge. Enjoy your time here!
I have an update! Not great news but see below.
I called my local Edelbrock Partner shop. I have an appointment there on December 6th. I gave my current shop notice. The owner completely failed. If Eric doesn't figure out what is wrong with a simple install that has step by step instructions by December 5, I will be towing my car to a shop that "has done hundreds of E-Force installations. I have High hopes that they will figure out whatever is wrong with it..... but: If my current shop fails utterly. They are about to be in breach of contract. I am Deeply saddened by the lackluster performance of a place that has never failed me before. It sucks. She looks so beautiful. You should see it after I wash and buff it. It is exactly how I wanted it. I love it. 👍. It has taken me months to convert everything. After 4 dissapointing performing miles; the serpebtine belt blew. This picture was taken when I was halfway finished with pulling out serp belt pieces. The steel belts kept it all from turning to dust. It is evidence of incompetence. From this point forward; I am not happy. I have had no transportation for a month. I am patient but come December 6th it will be towed to a Edelbrock Partner shop that has done "hundreds of e-force installations".

Sorry about your kick*** 67 SS they are chopping g up. They probably found rust and this dude worked unsupervised and thought he could weld it up. He is wrong
Do you have any pictures? BTW, the RS had a high compression small block 302 with a sweet power making cam that would compare with the modern RS. Of course there were all kinds of options z back then. But I belive that my info is good.
Does anyone know if there were other engine options for the RS?

The RS was a trim package you could get on various models back then including the SS and Z28 it was not a stand alone model and the 302 engine was not part of the RS package.
The high output 302 was a solid lifter cammed high compression engine with 2.02" valves on the intake and was only available from 1967-1969.
Also the 302 only came in Z28s and only with a 4 speed and not only that it was the only engine available in the Z28s.
There were a couple options for the 302 such as angle plug heads and a cross-ram dual Holley 4 barrel intake(very rare) but as stated only in the Z28s.
As for RS option packages they could be had on the SS which in '67 featured either a 350 (first year for the 350 engine and only available in the Camaro SS no other cars had it) or a 396 big block with several hp ratings depending on performance options.
Just plain base model V-8 Camaros had the 327 engine and base models without the V8 had a straight six.
