New to chevy's but I've got a 69SS
Hello all, I'm new to Chevy's. I know some things about cars, but I learned all I know from restoring those other cars....rhymes with fustang. Anyway, sadly, my wonderful father in law recently passed away. He left his 1969 Camaro SS to my wife. So, I'm looking into restoring it. It hasn't been driven since about 1985. He got it around 1974. It was gold with black stripes and black interior. He painted it all black. It's got the factory vin matching engine, 4 speed, and 12 bolt rearend. It's also still got the factory disc brakes, power steering, and dash a/c. It's going to be a long process because this car has been sitting for 34 years.
Just wanted to say hi!
Oh, btw, I'm in Huntsville, Alabama.

Sorry for the loss and congrats on the gain, looks like a great project.
I'd give my left nut for that car,had a '69 for 14 years, plane jane with a big block installed by me as a youngster.
I want another one but they are just out of touch price wise these days.
That car is probably worth $15,000 as it sits if not more given it's a numbers matching car assuming it's a true SS.

It's a true SS car. I was reluctant, so I did the research and looked it over. The body tag does not have the X on it because the car was built several months before they started doing that. It has the 350 engine, duel exhaust (has the hanger plate on the drivers side frame rail for the exhaust), has the high ratio steering box, has the dual fuel lines on the passengers side frame rail, has the factory disc brakes and 12 bolt rearend, and has the emblems. It's probably going to be a year before I start work on it. I'm finishing up a 75 f100 truck currently and breaking ground on a workshop/garage. Once the shop is done, the Camaro will have a home and work can begin.
