Default New Camaro owner in the Midwest

Hey guys,

I recently picked up a 94 Camaro Z28. I had a decade long hiatus from F body’s. I use to have a 99 Firebird and an 86 Trans Am. This if my first Camaro though.

I got this Camaro through a trade here in Minnesota. It has a lot of work done to it but still needs some TLC. A lot of drive train and body mods.

I look forward to being on this forum.

I guess it is Camaro season in MN. I got mine a couple of months ago.

That's way shinier than mine...

I gotta say, tho - Minnesota is really not the best place for low ground effects like that.

I got mine a couple months ago as well. The paint is pretty nice on it.

The ground effects aren’t that bad but it was lowered by the previous owner. There is not much clearance at all. I live outside of Mankato. The roads are not bad around here at all. What sucks is I live on a dirt road and I definitely scrap in a couple spots.

I'm in the Cities. Roads are mostly OK, but we seem to have a fair amount of steep driveways.

Mine came from further north where there are a lot of gravel roads. The hood shows it. Also, I think that's why it had a busted fog light.

That said, while clearly not a garage queen, it is fairly unrusted for MN. The worst I found so far were the spot under the battery tray and the spare tire well.

Mine has almost no rust as well. Just on the bottom side of the battery tray.

I definitely have to be mindful of how steep parking lots and driveways are.

I had to replace the battery tray/coolant bottle (I have no idea what GM was thinking with that one). When I pulled it I wirebrushed the area and hit it with some POR15. It's resistant to pretty much everything and should protect it even if there is another acid spill. I'm not really going for showroom condition, but I want to keep it from rotting out.

Welcome
The forum needs some more gen4 folks in my humble opinion
Minnesota was the first state I visited in the US when started to travel there almost 25 years ago
