Default New Camaro Owner

Hello, my name is Josh, im 18 and live in mobile alabama, and about 2 weeks ago I purchased a 85' Camaro for 250 dollars. I never really intended on keeping this car but after driving it around I changed my mind. Its got a 305 with 700r4 trans, with about 400,000 miles on it! It now runs, but it needs a new dist and a new harmonic balancer. Ive already done performance mods to it, Lunati cam w/ 290/290 duration .460"/.460" lift, 600 cfm edelbrock carb, Edelbrock air gap intake manifold, High rpm fan. I was going to put solid lifters in when i was putting in the cam but the original lifters were so mushroomed out at the bottom that i couldnt get em out!

Here are a few pictures of the night i got it towed to a friend's house:

Good pictures of a nice project car. So did you ever take the engine apart to get the lifters out?

Im going to restore it and im thinking about boring the motor out .040 over and getting a 400 crank, so im not really worryed about the lifters.

Im in the process of priming it and fixing the rust in the A pillars and roof , The car will probably be a semi flat black with silver racing stripes.

Welcome to the forum. The body looks fairly good, little rust and no dents. Good price. The interior needs a little love but all in due time, and the carb looks nice. Happy modding, enjoy the forum, vote ride of the month and I hope that is a beer in your hand...workin on Camaro's makes me drink, lol.

The body Is messed up in the passenger side quarter panel and the fender, i think ill be able to pop out the big dent and the fender im pretty sure i can fix with either a base ball bat or just using body filler

also thats not me in the picture, thats my friend ... he's drinkin dr. pepper lol

Oh and the car now has a passenger seat.
