Default just bought my 2001 camaro

hi guys new to the forum and new to owning a Camaro. so heres the deal I just bought a 2001 Camaro ss. I was told it had an ls6 intake, slp cold air intake, competition valve springs and keepers, walbro 225 fuel pump, longtube headers, zo6 clutch and pressure plate, and is tuned by a local performance shop. Oh and also has a 150 shot of nitrous that I have not had the pleasure of using. The guy I bought it from said it did 180 mph at the Texas mile and gave me the card to prove it. Well my questions is how much power do you think the car is making before the nitrous? I know theres no exact number anyone can give me but the guy I bought it from said it made 610 with the nitrous but I find that hard to believe. any info or ideas would be very much appreciated. thanks in advance.

I don't think the cam was upgraded but I could be wrong. if you switched to the ls6 intake would you have to upgrade the cam?

no but upgrading the springs and keepers is usually done because a high lift cam is also being installed.

Ok thanks for all the info. I plan on getting it on a dyno sometime in the near future.

LS6 manifold came from the GM assembly line, at least on my '02 SS & LS6 clutch.

Re: 2000 z28 LS1 vers 2002 z28 LS1

there are actually a few more differences. while the 02 had the LS6 intake (which actually adds quite a bit of power to the LS1), it has a smaller cam than the 00. The 02 will still make a bit more power, and because of the smaller cam, it doesn't need an EGR system. So in short, it'll make a bit more power than the 00, but definitely have more low and mid range torque. The advantage of the 00 is that you can swap in an LS6 intake manifold easier than you could swap a cam in the 02. Though if you want to go for more than 360 bhp or so in the end, you need a cam bigger even than the one in the 00. The only other drivetrain difference i know of is that the 02 also comes with the LS6 clutch if its a manual trans. That means it'll slip less.
