Hey all. Noob Looking for car buying advice!
Hi everyone!
First off, thank you for providing these forums where noobs like me can come to find great info and help, this is priceless. I haven't had a project car for over a decade and a half. I'm hoping to rectify that. Honestly, I'm not sure if it's going to end up being a camaro, but they are definitely in my sights. I really don't know much about camaros, various models, characteristics per year, etc., so I'm hoping for a little guidance on what to look for. In particular, I spotted this this camaro on craigslist in my area and have no idea of the relative value or potential value. I'm in it mostly for the fun of having something to fix up. I have been down the road of having a project car as a daily driver and know the pain and pitfalls of that... Also, I'm not looking for total originality or a trailer queen. A fixer upper to a daily driver is a good place to start for me. Let me know what you guys think!

Hi neighbor, I see that car is in Molalla, Oregon so not too far from me actually.
I live out in the hills not far from Battle Ground in SW Washington but born and raised in Oregon.
That looks like a fun project car although with a 454 probably wouldn't make a good daily driver unless you don't mind buying a lot of gas.
Driving a big block car is a bit like driving with a hole in the gas tank, you can see the gas gage going down by the mile. lol
I'd want to beat him down a bit on the price,if it was a 1st gen ('67-'69) I'd be all over it at $12K but not for a '73 in that condition.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Well I do like big blocks but I had a 427 in a '69 Camaro years ago and it drank gas like tossing buckets of it out the window. lol I have a 454 in my '78 GMC 4X4 and love it but I wouldn't want to drive it daily, gets about 8-9 mpg downhill with a good tailwind. heh heh. My '69 Camaro had a big cam etc. got about 7-8 highway and about 5 around town but gas was a only buck a gallon for leaded super back then and I was single with little else to spend my money on. Good luck with whatever you get and keep us posted. By the way '73 was the first year without a big block as an option so it was a small block car originally.
