If things go as planned, I'll be the onwer of a mostly restored 69 convertible Camaro on Monday.
It has some mechanical issues which I'm looking forward to resolving, in an attempt to recapture my youth (even though I was a Mopar guy when I was 20).
I just wanted to introduce myself before I start hammering you all with questions.
Agreed.
3 year old crate motor with 480-ish lift hydraulic cam from Comp Cams and TH350 from Jegs. Edelbrock Performer manifold and a Holly 650. Front disc brakes. Paint job about the same vintage. There's some plastic in the body, have to check it out with a magnet to see how much. New top and mechanism (cylinders and all). Floor pan was replaced. I know the guys who did the work for/with the owner. Good guys.
Putting it on my buddy's lift Sunday to examine the floor pan welding. Frame is supposed to be good, will get up close and personal with it on the lift.
Interior was replaced.
Not a frame up restoration.
My goal is to have a car to putt around in on sunny Saturdays, not venture too far from original. My SuperchargedG37X will drive circles around the Camaro but will never be as cool as it.
Goals change, though we'll see where I want to take it once the little issues are resolved. Needs a real rear (open 10 bolt with drum brakes as of now). That just does not sit well with me so it will be the first majot upgrade.

It all checks out so I think she will be mine (my wife's, actually, I figured she'd be more receptive if we put it in her name) this week.
Trunk pan needs repair or replacement. For the time being I'm not worried about it. The subframes and unit body are in good shape.
First order of business.
Oil pressure sucks, drops to nearly zero at idle once the engine heats up. Jumps to 20 PSI at 2000 RPM so I'm not thinking it's an excessive bearing clearance issue, because it turns out a standard volume pump was installed. As soon as deal is closed I'll order a high volume pump.
60 series tires on the front rub in the wheel well when a bump is encountered while turning. Some 70s are in it's future.
