giddy up

Default giddy up

i just bought a 1968 camaro, its got a 327, had a quardajunk, replaced it with a edelbrock, changed the plugs,oil,filter. why is it when i stomp on the peddle it goes faster but wont giddy up??if you know what i mean, its a automatic powerglide and i noticed that there is a bar coming off it thats not hooked to anything.any suggestions, it also still has points

Welcome. Could be the points need replacing. How is the timing?

I would say check the timing, then possible the points just like thomas said. my brother just had a rebuild on his 327 and he was having a similar problem and he one of his cylinders wasn't firing, i dont know if your running manifolds or headers but start the car get it up to temp and touch the pipes and see if they are hot or not.
