Back for more.
Hey every one I used to frequent this forum when I was looking for a Camaro almost a year ago. I finally found one I am interested in that is an Automatic 4sp 2002 Z28 Convertable in Northern Virginia at about 38k miles. I hope to learn alot from you guys from your experience with these vehicles. I come from a ford background and hope to have a better experience with Chevy. I was considering an 04 Mach I but that vehicle had a ****ton of problems and the stealership is asking way too much for it in it's condition. My impression of the z28 was it was a sharp looking pewter colored car and although I didn't want a drop top, does it make a big difference in longevity/performance/handling ? My only issues with the vehicle are that when I asked the sales person to crack the hood open it looked like there was a little seepage around the valve covers but how hard are those to replace ? Also there was some surface rust in the engine bay but they said they would take care of that before I bought it. What else should I look for ? Also one other concern I have about the vehicle is that there is no extended warranty on it even though on the website it says it is a "certified" car, I'll see if I can fight to get the Chevy ESP on it somehow. Any advice guys ?

RE: Back for more.
Warranty: It's 5 years old...no camaro's have warranty's anymore
Surface Rust: How are they planning on 'taking care of that'...2002, must have been driven thru winters...
Valve Covers: Easy fix
Things to check: All fluids, check the handling and braking for the test drive, open it up to make sure it has all the power it should, shifts fine, no funny noises, bring a knowledgable person with you...
Perf: Verts are heavier, may affect perf. a little, but the LS1 should take care of that
