Hmmm I'm not sure. My Camaro has a manual trans. If I were you, I'd do a manual trans swap. My car smokes the automatic version of mine. Been there, Done that lol. And its good to know that they last because mine has almost 180xxx miles and I have no intentions of doing a rebuild for awhile. It's good to see other 3.4s out there with high miles. Good luck with the new Camaro.

hay welcome to the forum, good to have ya here. that is some high miles but if she was cared for it should last a while longer. did you get a record of the matanance for the car? ive seen a fare number of 3.4 s on here with blown head gaskets so you will want to keep an eye out for any indications that issue may be ariseing. (light colored slime on the underside of the oil fill cap) the change from auto to manual is very labor intensive and not cheap. enjoy.

241 K is a lot of miles for most engines. If you want to keep on using it, you should consider a rebuild in the near future. The transmission is a 4L60e, which is more than enough to handle a 3.4, but with that sort of mileage things do tend to wear out, regardless of how nicely they were treated.
Switching over to a manual tarnsmission is not as simple as it sounds, if you really want a manual transmission, sell the car and buy one with a manual box.
