78 Z28 steering

My 78 Z28 that I just bought a few weeks ago has somewhat loose steering. What is the normal culprit on an Gen 2 Camaro? Steering box or steering linkage? What is the best way to test to isolate the issue?

go from the steering wheel to the linkage and work your way down ,Even the steering box has some adjustment in it.
