Default 1969 307 matching number

Afternoon all! I just bought A 74 C10 that has a 1969 307 Camaro/ el co/ chevelle/ nova engine in it and i thought id track down the original car if possible. We all know a numbers matching 69 car is worth way more right? Is this a good place to try? is there another way? truck bought in fresno, CA had a 454 so maybe that was the swap.
307 Engine numbers are: 019Z343707 T0324DD
Thanks in advanced

I don't think this engine is out of a Camaro because the forth digit "Z" stands for the GM Assembly Plant in Fremont, CA. and they didn't build the Camaro line. This plant built the GM "A" bodies cars which were Chevelle's, El Camino's and similar Pontiac and Buick models. It is my understanding to have been installed in a Camaro, this digit would have been either a "N" for Norwood or a "L" for Los Angeles. If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

The 307 was an economic V8. Value is based on supply and demand and all number matching 307 are not in demand. I serious doubt the car was kept in original mint condition once the original engine was gone which would means a restoration to the point number matching would mater would cost more then the car would be worth once it was done. What most likely happened was the the car was wrecked the drive line and some of the parts where sold and the rest was crushed. Now if you where talking about an original 302 or a 396 than you car talking about a serious increase in value. You are talking about a value jump of (25K.65-70K price tag) A completely restored numbers matching car may have trouble bring 30k total price.

A 307 isnt worth very much sorta of like a 283.A 302 .327 and a 350 are worth a lot more.

307's are gas hogs and don't really perform like a 283.

Yup,I've seen some pretty strong 283's including the one I had in my '66 Chevy 3'4 ton 4X4.
307 is a smog motor,no compression and weak heads,a 283 4 barrel with the powerpac heads has some punch.
