i am about to buy a 1994 z28 with lt1 with 140K what all should i do to get her good running again test drove today got on gas it was sluggish and the trans was has shirts btw it is auto

 

if its been sitting i would suggest flushing the oil out, run some seafoam in the gas (if there is any build up in it from sitting it will clean it right out), and the fuel filter..... um... thats all i can think of

 

ok i was thinking wires and plugs and how hard is it to change the oil in a auto trans

 

 

looks like someone was getting carried away. yep a good first thing to do would be to change the plugs and wires. first time i changed plugs it took about 8 hours. did my wires when i changed the opti. oil and filters in engine and trans, air filter, fuel filter, check the tie rod ends if you have slop in the steering. have it scanned for trouble codes if you can find a place that can do it on a 94. save up for when you need a opti.

changing the trans fluid is messy but not that hard. if old trans that has old fluid i would advise to do the good old fluid and filter change. gotta take the pan off, the filter is inside on the bottom of the trans under the pan. with an old trans that has not been maintained well its not a good idea to do a trans flush. on occasion the flush gets things too clean and can quicken the failure of the trans.

 

Shouldn't be hard to get it scanned. Any shop with an OBDI scanner can check for codes. It is the '95s that cause the problems when scanning (OBDI computer with a modified OBDII port).

Once you get all of the fluids changed and a quick tuneup ad a can of seafoam to the gas tank and that should help clean out the fuel system.

Double check under the rear of the car for anything loose or bent. I only say that because of the dent above the rear wheel. Possible that the driver slid into a curb, not causing that damage, but may have happened at the same time. Some polishing compound should shine most of the paint back up. Remove the bra and check for any damage under it also. While you have it off, chuck it in the trash.

 

yea i am putting it on a lift today to go throw everything , and i drove it yesterday it was werid with trans it took it to red line to shift it dont post to do that dose i

 

yall think a dent puller will get that out or no
