wont start
I have a 95 LT1 that sat when I went to Iraq, upon returning and adding a new battery, it will not start, I have checked the starter and it spins but when placing it back up against the flywheel all I hear is clunk..clunk when I turn the key.....the car has sat in the elements for 15 months. I figured the flywheel is not spinning....can anybody tell me what may be causing this problem.
im gonna try to turn the crank tonight or tomorrow....its an automatic but I came up with the **** is rusted at the pullies and thats why it wont crank but im gonna manually do it tonight or tomorrow ( a few beers in right now
) hope it works.
) hope it works.
ok so the crank wont turn at all, I took the belt off and the other pullies turn so Im hoping that its the tranny or torque converter thats locked up and not letting it spin....im gonna drop the trans and see if it will spin then. Any other clues to help me out?
pull the spark plugs. see if u have water in one or a few cylinders. check the fluid in the trans and the engine. whats on the dip sticks. see any water? how full are they. was the radiator full?
