Default will this work?

i need a thermaostat i think for my 95 lt1 cause it gets hot (mainly at an idle) i dont haverefrigerrent in myac.I heard that could be the reason cause my lowspeed fanswont turn on???but i gues the thermostat would be my 1st step.
iread what you guys were sayin' and it was that a 160 degree is better will this one still work even tho it says its for a ls??

160 degrees is better for less ware and tear on the motor and doesn't brake the oil down as fast. The hotter it is, the more efficient it is to burn the air fuel mixture.

Putting in a lower temp thermostat is not going to bring the temperature down at idle, unless the fans are working.

so what should i do? get refrigeant for the ac? ima look up and down the car tomaro any ideas would be helpfull(im going to buy a chilton on it also tomarow)

Recharge the AC. Get 2 cans of R134a ans a 2 oz can of the proper lubricant, and a recharge hose with a gauge so you don't overcharge and break things. Make sure the AC is on while you charging. If this is the problem, the compressor and the fans should come on when the pressure is up. It would be a good idea to find out why the system is empty.
