Default What wheels will fit?

I am looking to get a good set of winter wheels and/or tires. I was curious as to which wheels will fit. I have a 94 z28 with four wheel discs. Will the standard package wheels fit my car or will the offset not clear? Also, will the 215/60r 16 (the tires that fit that wheel) fit on the wheels on my z28? I am looking to get a narrower tire and/or wheel to help with snow traction. I hate to drive this car in the snow but its my only option for vehicle in the winter, it will be undercoated properly, though. Thanks for any help!

If I were you I would just try to get a set of stock Z28 Salad Shooter wheels with a good snow tire on them.

Well, I would do that, but I'd like to get a smaller, narrower wheel to cut through the snow a bit better. Also, the tires for the base package rim are much, much cheaper. I was also curious if a standard 15" GM rear drive wheel will mate up to my car.

You're just going to have to worry about offset, you may have to get some spacers to clear the brakes, but that would be your only concern. In my experience with snow (live in CO) if you have the stock 8" wheels with a good snow tire on them you should be ok. It's not going to be fun to drive in the snow, but it will make it home.

I understand that it's not going to be any fun driving it in that weather, I am just trying to maximize my ability to do so. I live in Illinois, so we got some good snow from time to time in the winter and obviously I'll do everything in my power to avoid truly heavy snow. I want to try to get narrower wheels because I've always been told that fatter wheels make for worse snow traction for a few reasons. I'd assume that the base package wheels fit since the front axles have discs no matter the package and, correct me if I'm wrong, they're the same diameter as the optional rear discs. Or are there two options for discs, like bigger ones for the 4 wheel disc option on the Z28? Plus another reason is that the tires for the base rims a A LOT cheaper, and I don't want to break the bank just for seasonal tires.

The actual rotors in the rear are smaller and the caliper is much smaller. I suppose as long as you're running at least a 16" (probably 15" would work too) you shouldn't have any clearance issues as far as diameter of the wheels goes. Go to a used wheel/tire place and see what they have their in 5x4.75 bolt pattern.
