were do i lift motor from?

hey guys can someone put a picture or tell me were to lift the engine, i'm trying to lift it just enough to get the oil pan out. I would appriciate if a picture was showed, when the engine is in the car. thanks ya

You can probably just undo the motor mounts and jack it up. That's what I did for my headers, just get a jack and a 2X4 with a semi circle cut into one end and jack it on the pulley.

jack it up on what pulley? do you know were can i jack it up with a chain?

well jacking with a chain may be a bit hard, because a jack works from underneath and a chain is well...useless from underneath. Just jack it on the crank pulley(the big one that comes out of the motor). Just jack the car first, get it on some stands, and then jack the motor...without the chain...

what kind of penetrating oil do i use for the exhaust y pipe studs? is w40 good? i already broke two studs one from each side any other prenetrating oil that is better than w 40? and also how do i remove the passanger side motor mount? there is a hose in the way of the bolt to come out completly

ok pete told me there is to holes in the block were i can lift it from i found one its driver side were is the other one i suppose its on passanger side, but i cant see it, not pete do i lift from passanger side what do i grave on to, i know you told me a head bolt but which one i mean the one that goes to the exhaust manifold? or what bolt there is a bolt that hold the alternator could i use that one, its next to the intake manifold or is a stud from the intake manifold dunno

Also there should be two lifting points on the motor, looks like a bracket with a hole in the middle, if I remember right one should be near the alt and the other, caddy corner to the first would be near the head/valve cover towards the back of the motor. Why do you need to take off the oil pan? just curious. My car has a cross member that I just removed to get to the pan.

PB is good stuff, but if you can find some, Aerocroil is some freakin' amazing stuff. Nonetheless, when I did my headers, we twisted off half of the flange bolts between the manifolds and the Y pipe anyway, they're pretty rusted on most of the time.

ok now i put eveything back together, but my exhaust us puffing like crazy cuase of the one bolt i broke on each side of the exhaust, what do i do, i know i have to get another stud there, how do i do it? i need some help plz thanks
