Default V6 auto to a Lt1 t56

I've got a 94 z28 bad body. Lt1 and t56 6spd rebuilt 20000 miles ago. Also have a 99 v6 auto Camaro body is good on this one . Want to put the LT1 and t56 in the 99. Will I just transfer everything from the z28 to the 99? Or is there other stuff I'll need to buy ? How hard will this be ? Can't be to bad if I'm just swapping the parts .

its a lot of work: springs, fuel lines, fuel pump, etc.. you may b better off buying a z28- and saving the drive train PCM wiring etc for project or rainy day, yes it can be done but helluva lot of work

I be looking for an LT1 car that's a roller for sale, maybe even trade the V-6 car for one if it's not your only transportation.

94 is ob1 99 is obd2. you would have to change allot of the wiring inside and out and the ecm and sub computers under the dash like bcm would have to go. not sure if gauges will work so may have to change them too. k member is different

The cheapest thing to do is find a 94 Z28 with a bad motor, you are talking 5-$700 for a shell. It will be faster to find a V6 but they sell for about the same money. Jumping even from 94 to 97 is almost a rewire of the the whole car.

Your 99 has a body control module that controls everything (gages, AC, power window/dower lock and a lot of the lighting) If you take away the 99 PCM none of that stuff will work and your LT1 PCM has no support for it.

If your V6 runs you are better selling it as a running car or driving it then you are using as a parts car. Parts cars are super cheap. Running driving cars are not. If the V6 is not running and you like the front end better you could swap the front ends onto the 94, You also want the brakes off the 99.

pretty much, they are very much different. i would consider putting a series 3 3.8 in the 99 and selling it while looking for a 93-97 with blown lt1 or look for a 94 with v6. problem being 94 is a one year car in many ways so engine can be used in any of the 93-97 lt1 camaro's the computers and some of the electronics and parts on the engine can not.

Check out the below link. Read it carefully it shows you what needs swapped going form a V6 to a V8. The is a chart that lists the year of the engine donor and the years of the shell. From that it shows you what is different. They don't bother going into the 98+ cars cause it would just be everything. Kept in mind the W in the chart stands for ALL WIRING.

If you can find a Pre 96 V6 life will be easy, if you can find a Z28 would a blown motor and just use your engine then it just a replacement with a trans swap.

3.4/3.8 V6 to LT1
