upgrades for lt1

have not heard of any head gasket problems with the lt1. have not had a problem yet. had 200k miles on the first 93 z28 and the heads where never off. it was runnin fine when i got rid of it.

Under $1k?

I'd pull the heads and intake and do a DIY port job matching the gaskets, 1.6 rockers, and cam. If you have money left, do a stall if it is an A4.

Clean up the opti and replace the plugs and wires. If the opti looks like oil or coolant got inside, replace it.

i think i will just save the money up til i get around 3k and try to do a decent job on it. i will most likely get a msd opti spark and im forsure buying electric cutouts

Well maybe I'll look into it more, and leave what I heard behind, I was going to swap a LT1 out of a 3rd Gen trans am into my Camaro but got a simi built 355 for cheap with no miles, I still would rather swap a LS into the car nxt

ahh you must be talking about a lt-1 different engine than a 4th gen lt1 and soon to be different than the 6.2 lt1

found lots of things i want to put into my motor. now i just need to figure out if i want to find a z28 that needs a motor to put the one i have in then build up and keep my current camaro (99 v6 5speed) or sell and get a running z28 and use as a daily driver and build the motor out of the car. i found a 95 z28 with a stick. guy says its not getting spark to plugs. would this be the opti spark acting up.


this is the ad any suggestion would be great.

355 LT1 121xxx miles moroso cold air bbk 52 mm throttle body lt4 knock module center force dual friction clutch 6 speed chrome Hurst short throw shifter Richmond 373 gears brand new in the box 255 lph fuel pump crane cams ignition box . Have swirl polished valves brand new and new heavy duty springs . To much to list . Not getting any spark to plugs have to sale laid off and need the money for school tuition 3000 or best offer.

could be several things. opti, coil, fuse, failing wiring, ignition coil module, ummm still thinkin
