Alright, so my transmission blew out on Friday and I need to fix it and I was thinking of upgrading the shift kit too.

First off - would you recommend putting a used in or getting a rebuild? Also what prices should I expect - I think he said 1200 for a used one installed? how much should I expect for a rebuild?

Also - I need to decide on a shift kit. I either want to go with the B&M Transpak or the Transgo shift kit.... I've read a lot on here already about the controversy of the two and how they work but I really just would like to know peoples personal experiences with them and which one they like better. Also where is a good place to order the kits for a good price?

If you put in a used stock transmission it will eventually break like your old one.I suggest you replace it with one beefed up for performance use. As for shift kits, I find them OK on the strip but, a total PIA on the street, especially in traffic. A properly beefed up transmission will give you a solid shift without the harshness of a shift kit.
