Top End
Well i finally got my new edlebrock performer heads in and my car runs great but it seems that i have lost some of my low end power and gained a lot of top end is that normal when replacing stock heads ?

RE: Top End
Its really hard to say. It all depends on the specs of the heads you bought. Different combinations offer different rpm range power(ie valve sizes, intake runner ccs, chamber sizes, etc.). Installing a lower gear set will really make you notice the power increase (if it comes alive at higher rpms). I did heads on my truck motor and the difference over stock was unreal.

RE: Top End
If you put on heads with larger port sizes it will reduce the air velocity at low RPM, which in turn reduces the cylinder fill, which results in less low end torque. You can remedy this by installing fatter rear end gears, such as 3.70 or 4.11. This will get thelow end back and liven up the car through the RPM range. At this point you should put in a hotter cam to take advantage of the head's potential.
