will your car also start in neutral or only in park?

It's one of those things that I never really paid attention to and the 95 will start in both.

Since I drive manny tranny's as my daily drivers the gear doesn't matter, I just need to throw in the clutch

thanks

now I wonder how many had to read this, go outside and find out for themselves???

all auto transmissions will start in park and neutral... the only reason i can think of is if your cruising down the rd and for some reason your car stalls you can put it in neutral instead of pulling over???

Yep, ever hear of a "neutral safety switch" before? The switch disables the starter if the trans isn't in park or neutral. And yes, the neutral position is for instances like what B.C. stated.

or if the linkage is adjusted wrong. i would think it would be a safety feature, you dont want to be starting in gear.

yup, i've heard of a neutral safety switch. That's what i get for driving manny trannys. As i said, i never paid attention to starting in neutral. Any auto tranny car I've worked on i just keep it in park.

thanks guys
