t5 trans

hey i have a 96 camaro with the lt1 in it. the motor is punched 40 over and it also has the biggest cam that i can go with with out changing the intake. so hears the thing i do not have a trany in this car right now and was wondering if any one knew if a t5 would be able to stand up to this motor? the reason being is i can not find a t56 anywhere right now in minnasota. please let me know what you think. thanks

biggest cam without changing the intake? i don't understand that at all

since we don't know your HP numbers, all i can do is ASSUME that you built the engine right and it makes quite a bit of power...therefore a t5 is not something you want to put behind that motor. keep looking for a t56...they're out there

If you're making the kind of power you should be making with that motor you would destroy a T5. You can buy one and put it in for fun just to see how long it takes you to destroy it, but I agree with Wham...keep an eye out for a T56.
