Do you think the springs is causing my problem. If the car surged more with the maf sensor unhooked does this mean anything?

its not the sensors. have u tried unhooking the battery overnight? may be the ecu. i hate to say this but i keep going back and reading the thread and the only thing that has made it go away was the change to a used opti.

Default Surging

Take your PCV valve out of the engine and block it off. With the engine running, take the oil cap off and spray a shot of carb cleaner into the valve cover. If the engine picks up rpm and smooths out, you have an internal vacuum leak and you should replace the intake gaskets.

This took a while and trying everything including replacing the transmission. The programmer told me to remove the EGR and block it off. I guess the LT4 Hot cam doesn't need it. Wow what a difference... The programmer desensitized the misfire so I never received a code and the EGR was still operating when it shouldn't have. Thanks again for all of your help!

Never go with "cheap" plug wires. Even brand new they can be broken or get easily broken during installation. Had a "miss fire" in a work van that we couldn't figure out. Had just done a full tune up, new plugs wires etc. Turned out one brand new wire from Autozone was bad. Always spend the money on decent wires, and get wires with the least amount of resistance for performance applications.
