well before you do this you have to have a few things, upgraded fuel pump (inline), #30-42 Fuel injectors depending on what power you want to make, spark plugs, new ignition timing controller/boost controler, Exhaust, better intake and a good tune, these are good till about 450 hp in an LT1 with stock internals, anything more and your talking serious $$$$

I don't recommend forced induction an a stock LT1 because the compression is to high, which means you will be limited to 5-6 lb boost giving you about 370 HP @ the flywheel. With less money you could get a 383 stroker, and make more power and keep the engine bay clean with no extra belts, plumbing and air compressors. If you want to do the job properly, you need to beef up the rotating assemby and main bearing caps, drop compression 3 or 4 pionts, and go for 15-20 lb boost, and then fiddle with the computer, ignition & fuel delivery till it runs right. It is a good project if you got the perseverence and the bux.
