spec clutch
about six or seven months ago i had a spec clutch installed b/c i jus thrashed the stock one, when i had that done i got a brand new pressure plate, clutch disc, throw out bearing, and had my flywheel resurfaced.. well after that i broke in my clutch for a good 8 or 900 miles and since have put on another 12,000.. well ne ways yesterday i was driving on curvy road thru the hills n i went to jump on it around a turn n instead of breakin loose my engine jus revved up and i could feel something in the driveline slip.. and i know im not pushin all that much power but when i got my car i was able to chirp third, ive done a few bolt ons as u can c and now i cant even chirp second and im starting to think this problem might b the reason but u think i could have gone thru my clutch that fast? well sorry for the long post but ne replies wood b appreciated!
Hard to tell, but a lot depends on how you use the clutch. In proper and normal use a clutch should last to 100K. I personally don't like the idea of flywheel resurfacing. If it looks bad I just as soon put in a new one, as the price difference isn't all that great, but that's just me.
YA I WOOD RATHER OF BOUGHT A NEW FLYWHEEL BUT UNFORTUNATELY I COULDN SPARE THE XTRA 270 SINCE IT WAS AROUND CHRISTMAS, BUT NE WAY I TOOK BY MY BUDDIES SHOP HE TOO FELT IT SLIPPIN BUT ONLY WHEN IT GOT HOT AND AND IF THERE WAS EVEN THE SLIGHTEST AMOUNT OF PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL, I MEAN JUS THE WEIGHT OF A DAMN BOOT, HE JUS TOLD ME THAT HE FELT THAT THE PEDDLE WAS RIDING WAY TOO HIGH N HE THOT IT HAS SUMPIN TO DO W/THE SLAVE CYLINDER BUT HE WAS GONNA WAIT TILL MONDAY TO CALL SPEC ABOUT IT....
