Default Spark Plug Preferences?

I'm interested in replacing the spark plugs in my 93 Z28. There are so many different sparks out there and many of them seem to be gimicks to me. Are there really advantages to any of the tricks that spark plug manufactures use to make their plug different? Can you really gain HP or mileage just by changing from a quality "normal" plug to one of the fancy ones? What do you all prefer and why?

In my opinion when u r looking for plugs u also have to take into consideration ur plug wires and all that is involved with ur ignition system. will it be creating a high spark or normal? I think u have to consider those before u pick ur plugs. And i thought i might warn u, changing the plugs in a z of ur year is a pain. I know i just changed mine!

If your engine has stock internals go with the stock AC platinum plugs. They are good for 100K miles, and replace the wires while you are doing the plugs. Get the best wires you can afford as u don't want to visit this job again.
