Default Sometimes starts and turns off but starts up when i try again

Sometimes (about 10%) when I go to start my car, it fires, the rpms go up and it cuts right back off. But when i go to crank it again, it starts fine. The past couple times it has done this, my exhaust 'pops' a couple times. Also, when i accelerate while the heater is running, it accelerates rough and shaky. Any ideas?

Yep yep, fuel pressure. Is it popping an SES light? I would check the plugs and wires to be sure it isn't a miss

Yeah its the 96 LT1. No the ses isnt coming up. So im guessing i need to get fuel pressure gauge? I am also losing coolant. i have to add it about every month or so. I haven't been able to tell where it is coming from because its not dripping out. im guessing it must be hitting something hot and evaporating. This has been going on a little bit longer than the starting and cutting off issue though so its probably not coming from the same problem. but ive had the water pump and radiator replaced within the last year as well as the head gaskets.

Also as far as a cylinder missing, wouldn't the check engine light come on if that was the problem?

coolant is going somewhere. do a pressure test on your cooling system as well. you can rent cooling system pressure tester at you local parts store.
