Default lt1 question

I finally killed the engine in my camaro last week. Spun a rod @160,000 miles. Looks like ive got some work ahead of me once again. Anyway I found a guy thats practially giving away a running lt1 with low miles out of a 94 or 95 roadmaster. Is this engine the same as 95 camaro or are there some differances.

If you have all the correct harnesses and electricals I dont see why not. Is he throwing in the PCM? While you're down there I would change the motor mounts

No pcm and yea the cars gonna get a few things. A fresh clutch being one of them. I dont see why shouldnt beable to make this work. Worse case I dont see why I could'nt just use the block and rotating assembly from the buick along with everthing i have.

No, your aluminum heads are better. That's why the Camaro and Vette got them, swap them onto the new engine. And you're in luck that the engine is from a Buick. The F and Y body cars had the old style unvented opti through 1994, then got the new vented style in 95 (like yours). But the B body cars (Buick is one of them) got the updated opti in 94. So, that Buick LT1, even if it's a 94, should be sporting the same opti as you already have. Change the heads and the accessories from the old to new engine, and you should be set. No need for a different PCM.
