Xfi 280. From comp cams. I think I've decided to go with a create motor. A 427. I'm really contemplating pouring a blower on it sticking through the hood. I'm really gonna make this thing awesome.

Be very careful when cutting the big clearance notch into the base of the windshield, safety glass can be brittle.

Thanks i will. I'm still trying to figure out what kind of blower to use. I want something that looks nice but I don't want an 800hp car that you can't drive everyday if wanted. This care is just gonna be a weekend car but I still want to be able to drive it a ways and be semi reliable.

427 CID!! You do mean an LS7 and not the "old school" big block don't you?

You're going to need a new ECU and harness. The LS7 is an awesome engine.

And with the right tune, and long tubes, that thing will be more than enough. Heck, in stock trim it pushes vettes into the 11's.

Please keep us updated of the build.

You need to get out a tape measure. Big blocks don't fit in 4th gens without major modification to the structure of the car and almost every single part on the motor will need custom make. You can forget the blower sticking out of the hood a good bit of the motor is under the windshield. You would be much better off finding a 3rd gen body and leaving you 4th gen as is. Everything you need for the 3rd gen can be bought with a click of a button or on craigs list.

You should go search for the thread for the guy that put the SBC in his car. We are not talking about just the AC, we are talk everything in the dash all the gages your power windows you have to create a new wiring harness because almost everything goes thru the computer system at some point.

Yep, ive seen one 4th gen with a big block in person and it was a fiberglass body car at the local 1/8th mile strip. Haven't seen a steel bodied fourth gen. with one though.

That's why i told him to be careful when cutting a clearance notch in the windshield.
I did forget to mention that he'll have a heck of an interior leak when it rains! lol
