Default Roller rocker polylocks

I'm doing the adjustments to my Scorpion 1.6RR and some of the polylocks tighten down a lot further down into the hex nut than others. Now before I start it, I wanted to see if this was normal or if something is wrong, causing them to tighten down a lot further.

how are you setting them. ive seen the exhaust be at different levels than the intake but havent noticed them being different except when something is not right.

I'm setting them like normal. Tighten the nut until there is zero lash, another half turn, then tighten the polylock.

your bringing each cylinder up to tdc right. check to make sure the studs are in the same, sometimes they will back out. have you changed studs?

Yeah I bring each cylinder to TDC, and yes, they are ARP studs with guideplates. All studs torqued down the same too.

i would back them out to 0 lash and turn motor over by hand, to make sure there is not a bind, before starting. then start at 0 and adjust with motor running.

Ok I'll try that. I know there is no bind because I've turned it over a few times already but it doesn't hurt to double check. I'm just curious as to where the polylocks should be when locked down. I've never dealt with them before. Oh well, learning experience time.

Well I finally get the rockers adjusted correctly and everything is good to go. Starts right up, no valvetrain noise, no leaks. I'm just waiting for my valve covers and to get a tune and she will be on the road!
