Rockerarm/valve adjustment

here some good instructions
http://www.shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#adjust_valves
the exhaust valve would be the valve over the exhaust outlet, two center and two outside or most outer ones are exhaust.

are you upgrading to 1.6 ratio? If so, are you changing the springs? If not, then don't runit to the red line.
I like root beer floats but I don't like valve float
Anyway, remove valve cover
remove nut from rocker arm
remove rocker
install new rocker
use new nuts from the set
make sure none are flapping around
fire up engine with valve covers off- go to the obviously noisy ones and tighten until each quiets a bit and then tighten 1/2 turn more
for the ones that aren't noisy, loosen nut until they clack and then perform tightening procedure
or, follow the link to sho's site.
if it's your first time ever messing with a valve train I suggest reading more and maybe finding someone who has done it before.
I'm not intimidated by the method of adjusting while running because I've done it that way for many years.
good luck and if you are upgrading to 1.6 ratio, there is truth in my message about root beer floats vs valve float.
