Replacing Rotors, Calipers, & Pads - Help Wanted
First off, I'm new to these forums so I would like to say hi and thanks for the help ahead of time. But without wasting too much time, I would like to get to my question.
I have a work-in-progress '95 Camaro Z28 and am currently working on getting the front brakes, calipers, and pads replaced. The first question I have pertaining to this is what do you recommend I get, drilled, slotted or a combination for the front? I was thinking a combo, but wouldn't mind just slotted. Also, what are some good brands to look at? I found some gripforce F1 drilled/slotted rotors on Ebay that were zinc coated and was quite tempted to purchase those. Any advice would be a ton of help.
Thanks again everyone!

welcome to the forum. i have had drilled rotors and drilled and slotted rotors and would have to say the drilled and slotted worked better for me. if your doing everything go with a adapter and use some bigger rotors, pads and caliper.

Craby, what adapter are you mentioning that allows me to use larger rotors/pads/calipers? I don't know a ton about braking systems so I am curious what adapter I should be looking for. Thanks!

Some kits are already designed to mount to the original LT1 guide pin holes. LS1's have slightly different mounts to go with a two-piston floating-caliper setup; you can easily swap those in with new knuckles (some are on eBay).
As for something like the SSBC kit (which is a fixed-caliper setup, IIRC), it should come with an adapter plate already, to make the new caliper mounts line up with the caliper pin holes on the knuckle.
In terms of drilled/slotted - I prefer slotted only. Some cheap drilled rotors are just that - cheap. I've heard stories of them cracking under semi-hard use - something I'd hate to have happen.
Just my $0.02.

^^^there u go. can use a ls setup or a vette c6 (i think) setup or an aftermarket like willwood but at 1500 bucks i dont think thats what ur lookin for. do some research and decide what u want. try a search on this site there are numerous threads on it.

more basic stuff
be sure to change your brake lines since they are probably original and flush the brake fluid.
Me, I got GM loaded calipers for the front on Ebay for $32 each(shipped) and rotors from advanced auto.
rears i did the adv auto parts. But, the car doesn't get raced or auto-crossed
