Default Question About Headers

Ok so ive read the Sticky about Installing headers..Next problem. Instead of buying o2 extensions, can I not just but connect the proper length i need n to existing harness? The reason i ask is because a buddy of mine installed headers and bought the o2 sensor extensions and they were like 3feet too long! and he had to bind and zip tie em to get them to look decent.

I extended mine myself, and they work fine. It's a gamble. It'll void any sort of warranty you get with the sensors. The quality of the splice will obviously make a difference.

i was just reading the sticky for more info. Did you have to modify both o2 harnesses or just one?
because other members in the sticky said that one was long enough to reach.

solder and shrink fit the connections. dont ground or put any positive voltage to the sensor wire, cant remember the color of it, very sensitive and can be ruined with the touch of a wire. soo make sure the sensor is not pluged into the harness when extending it.

Yes, make sure you are careful and solder all connections. I used butt connectors when I put Hooker LT's on my 95 convertible (I was young and didn't know better) and the O2's never did read correctly after that.
