Default Question about Headers

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. I literally joined about 2 minutes before writing this.

I have a question about headers. I have a magnaflow exhaust and am looking to get some headers. I found a set of Pacesetters for around 290. They are NOT coated. Does anyone have these? I was looking at a set on ebay that are ceramic coated with the ORY for 591.00 to buy it now. Any suggestions? If I don't get the ceramic coated and just get the Pacesetters painted black, will they be ok ? Thanks everyone.

It is highly recommended that you purchase at least a coated header, stainless is better. Pacesetter headers are OK, but they're considered the "budget" header for LT1's, especially the painted variety. If you get just painted headers be prepared to replace them in a few years when they rust through (and trust me, that's not a job you want to attack every few years...).

Thanks for your response. I have two questions.

1. Can you recommend a good website or place to get headers from that don't break the bank ?

2. Is it illegal to have an ORY, since there are no cats? ( I live in Texas) .

Thanks.

does texas have emissions testing? if not then you're fine(technically is a federal law but you wouldn't get caught)

Not that I am aware of. Where I get my car inspected, they just check to see if your lights and blinkers work. It's a pretty quick inspection.

I just don't want any trouble, but the ORY seems like a nice power adder with headers, and plus a nice sound.

Actually it's mostly a money saver, with metallic matrix cats you only lose 2-5 HP...
