Question about forged engines
So, if I get a forged bottom end (stock displacement) and LE2 heads, could I push, say 15 lbs of boost with a Procharger without grenading my rear end or tranny? (T56)
Because:
Forged kit: $700
LE2 Heads: $1100
Procharger with dyno tune: $5500
Or is that a waste of money?

15 lbs should mean between 500 and 550 crank hp depending on blower efficiency. You're looking at rear end trouble for sure. If you don't shift like a ricer, your tranny will probably hold
I'm inclined to think building na would cost less, especially if you're looking at a whole new rotating assembly. Does the procharger kit come with an intercooler? You're probably looking at another grand or two to do it properly.

You will also need a custom grind cam made for forced induction. You will need other things as well, ported intake, injectors, fuel pump, stronger clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel just to name a few things. And I've talked to Lloyd Elliot about something like this already, he recommended LE trick flow heads would be a lot better than LE2 in this setup so that's more money.
T-56s are pretty strong to begin with so like the other guy said, if you're shifting correctly, it should hold. And stock GM 10 bolts are very weak. It will not handle power like that at all, so thats another $2,500 for say a ford 9" or something.
