Default punching out bolt

well i noticed my transmission was leaking, so i tightened the bolts around the pan, but one of the bolts broke off, my friend at work said i should take it to a shop and they can punch it out, is there any other way i could do this myself, any suggestions ?

Use an EZ-Out drill & extractor kit. Get the right size kit.

You'll probably have to have it Helicoiled or have an aluminum bung ( Threaded ) welded on. It's almost impossible to keep the threads intact when removing a broken bolt.
