Default 9-Bolt

If i were to get a 9-bolt rear end and put in an Eaton Posi unit and a better set of axel shafts, would i be better off than with a 10-bolt doing the same thing? I want the 3.42 rear end with posi and disc brakes which may or may not end up staying stock. Someday they will probably be upgraded. But for now, probably stock. I read on another forum that if you weld the seem where the pumpkin and the axel houseings come together that will help from twisting. What about gussets? worth it or no?

Im currently looking for a 9bolt rear on craigs list, but they are pretty hard to find.

CAN NOT BE DONE....The 9-bolt is a beast by itself and you can not install or mix ANY 10-bolt parts with it. So back to the drawning board or put on your thinking cap and come up with another idea.[sm=boohoo.gif][sm=boohoo.gif]

Read your own Post again, you did not state that little bit of info. Point: You can not install a
Eaton Limited Slip in a 9-bolt.

You can changeanything you want in the 10-bolt, but it is still going to be a weak a-- 10-bolt. However: With what you have it will be all right unless you do something dumb & stupid to break it. Oh, I forgot you will do that.

thats mature.. Youve got some issues black. no doubt. Im not gona be pounding on this thing. It will go to the track every once in a while, but usually just a nice weekend driver/cruiser but i want some power and i DO NOT want to worry about stuff breaking.

YOU can be done now, i no longer need any of your input. However, if somebody else has something actually intellegent to say about this topic, id be glad to hear it.
