Default Problems with my camaro :-(

Hey guys!

I'm new to these forums i just registered because i need some help I bought my camaro from a good friend of mine owns a lan center were good friends he has had this camaro its a 1995 Z28 he told me the engine was swapped for a lt1 a newer one there was a new fuel pump cold air intake and flowmasters put in and since i have bought it i have replaced the water pump the radiator and the compressor. He told me the engine they put in came out of a police impala and it has about 50k Miles on it

Just yesterday I started noticing smoke so i pop the hood i noticed that the cover for the oil was off so i found that it fell off or blew off and i found it on the undercarriage i put it back on checked my oil i put in a quart of oil because it was a little low and now ever since that my car will start up fine the car sounds great When i put it into reverse to back out of my parking spot it revs up really loud then backs up slowly then i put it in over drive (the first drive) and it just doesnt accelerate it revs the engine it will catch and accelerate so i have had to drive it like a stick from stopping i will put it in first then second then drive (then it starts slipping and has no power it just revs the engine)

So any ideas suggestions

anything would be usefull because im not that handy with cars im a 18 year old student that works at wal mart so you get a look at my budget

Have you checked the level of the tranny fluid?

Yup!! Sounds like your tranny just took a sh*t!! I had that very issue just two weeks ago and now that tranny is sitting in my garage. You're going to have to replace. If money is an issue search these camaro forums. Most have sections that are specificly for the area you're from and maybe you can find someone in your area that may be parting out or selling a trans. Good luck!
