problems
well i had a new transmission mount put in on thursday as well as the transmission fluid and filter changed.and when i drove to work on friday the car was fine.i parked the car outside so it was sitting in the sun all day im not sure if that had to do with anything, but on the way home the transmission was slipping bad, like the rpms would go around 3200 before shifting and after it shifted it kicked a little.so immediately i drove it to my mechanic and he drove the car and i was passenger, and the car was fine just a little lag after 3rd.we checked the fluid and it was at the full hot mark.so i left it at the shop, and they ran the car both hot and cold and it was fine, my mechanic even had the computer scanned and no codes came up. i just think its weird it runs fine now but was acting weird the other day, any one have any ideas why ?

RE: problems
Could have been some gunk that was loosened up and wound up temporarily clogging some valve or fluid passage. Common with high mileage transmissions that weren't maintained properly. That is a reason why many shops won't change fluid in high mileage transmission. If you are lucky the filter picked it up and you won't have any more problems.

RE: problems
even though i just changed the fluid in the transmission, would it be a good idea to buy some transmission flush and flush it out good, i bought the vehicle at the end of jan so i dont know when the last time it was done

RE: problems
I would leave it alone unless something happens, otherwise you may wind up stirring more gunk around and cause more problems. I don't know the mileage of you car, but tranny fluid should be replaced every 25K miles if nothing else just to keep gunk from developing. Most people ignore performing this service as the fluid still looks good. Eventually, when the fluid is finally changed, wierd things happen.
