how much money would a new LT1 cost?

 

I don't think you'll finda new LT1. These engines have not produced in a long time. You can however find a very good rebuilt one. Prices depend on what you want. I've seen them go from $1500 all the way up to $6800!

 

Oh I think there are a few ole' G2 LT1's stuffed in crates somewhere. And I think GM sells a crate engine for a mere arm and a leg. But the prices as stated above are about right on. Besides.... Who wants a stock engine?

 

You said 6k+ for a stock LT1. You can get a complete LS6 long block from GM Direct.com for that same price.

 

when i was looking for a new one i called gm and i think it was somewhere around $4000.00 It is a complete engine. they didnt offer me just the shortblock
