Parts List for an LT1 Rebuild...
Ok guys im ready to start on the motor... One long question though...
What is everything I would need for the rebuild kit after I get the block machined, honed and bored out? And what are good parts that mis with other components to maximize performance.. I dont want to do a half @$$ job on it... All the help and parts list would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone!

depends on what size engine you want to make it.
i'd use forged internals and nothing else.
355- forged pistons 4.030, forged connecting rods 5.7 or 6.0, you can use your stock crank or get a forged one
383- forged crankshaft 3.75, forged pistons and rods as mentioned above
talk to the machine shop about bearings and other such parts that you would need to go with whatever size engine you decide to build

I found one for around 4 grand for the dress up... basically just put it in and drive type of of thing, ill have to prolly remapp my PCM but oh well itll have to be dyno tuned at some point. The only problem with it is that its carbureted.. I cant seem to find an already assembled fule injection system

Not quite.. I found a short block from Jegs for 2 grand it has everything but heads and pulleys and stuff... but I figured for 4 grand total id have a pretty sweet 383 setup its already a 383 block with dome top pistons... I might turbo it but do you think the 4l60e I have for the tranny will bolt up to that?
