Overheats 3rd of the way

I'd still do the coolant flush. It's not going to hurt anything if you do it right and keep water away from the opti. You never know what you'll find hiding in your cooling system. Make sure you do the overflow tank too. I did mine and slabs of what almost looked like mud came out. Nasty stuff.

really, 2nd/3rd mark is normal??????
Okthat's the first time i've ever been in that the 3rd mark is okay?
I have a chevy blazer 1995 with a v6 4.3.... it always sat at 180f or halfway mark with the cooling system working perfectly...... although the V6 3.1 and 3.4s are a piece of **** and always heat up past 2nd, especially in traffic.
Mind you this is the first camaro with a lt1 i've owned. The funny thing is the coolant is really green and in really good condition.
Today I was driving around about 30% freeway 70% highway, the vehicle remained always at the halfway mark... guess what today was? Today was colder than yesterday by almost 20-25 degrees.
thanks for all the info guys,

1st is at 160
2nd is at 185
Middle mark is at 210
4th is at 235
Red starts at ~245
5th is at 260
Like I said before, the PCM will command the fans on at 226 for low speed and 235 for high. The car will yoyo between 210 and 230 when idling and stationary on a stock tune. These engines are designed to run hot.
