I know everyone is tired of hearing about optispark problems with the LT1... but I need to know if you have information about my problem. I am not certain that the issue is one related to the opti. I have a random misfire problem and 2morrow was supposed to be my dyno day. I am going to cancel that. I have checked my plugs and although the car appears to be a little lean, the plugs seem to be ok. I have only had 2 codes (DTC'S) the first was a high voltage on the map sensor so I replaced it. The second was a MAF system failure code which I corrected by swapping out my mass airflow sensor with my friends. That failed to correct the miss that exists randomly throughout the rpm range and seems to get worse the hotter the engine gets. I don't have any more codes. I think that the problem has to exist in one of three places- 1.The optispark distributor. 2. The ignition coil or 3. The ignition module. Am I correct, and other than swapping them out with good ones, how can I troubleshoot this problem without spending unnessesary cash?
